Designed to support a wide range of seismic operations, Artemis Odyssey combines modern seismic technology, operational flexibility and an experienced crew in a vessel built for demanding projects worldwide.
The multipurpose seismic vessel is designed for a wide range of source vessel operations, including ocean bottom node (OBN) operations, streamer operations and high-resolution surveys.
This versatility has made Artemis Odyssey an important part of Maritim Management's fleet and allows the vessel to adapt to the individual requirements of different seismic projects.
No two seismic projects are exactly alike. Survey configuration, equipment requirements, environmental conditions and the scope of operations can vary considerably from one project to another.
For Artemis Odyssey, the ability to adapt is therefore one of the vessel's key strengths.
The vessel can alternate between different seismic source configurations and gun setups depending on the requirements of the project. While the extent of reconfiguration required between assignments varies, the vessel has been designed and equipped to support different types of source vessel operations.
This flexibility is supported by modern seismic technology. Artemis Odyssey is equipped with the latest generation GunLink 4000 Mk III source control system, as well as a new Gator system and an upgraded Fugro GPS system.
The upgrades, most recently completed in 2026, ensure that the vessel remains equipped for the evolving requirements of the seismic market. Maritim Management is also continuously assessing further improvements, including additional compressor capacity and more gun winches to increase both flexibility and redundancy.
Artemis Odyssey has predominantly supported ocean bottom seismic projects and has gained operational experience across several major seismic regions.
The vessel has previously worked in the Gulf of America and Brazil and is currently operating in Asia. These assignments have exposed both vessel and crew to a wide range of operating conditions.
Each region presents its own challenges. In areas with particularly strong currents, Artemis Odyssey has demonstrated its ability to maintain stable and reliable operations despite demanding conditions. The vessel provides a stable working platform and is capable of operating in rough weather, while its DP2 configuration provides additional redundancy when working within 500-metre safety zones.
Maritim Management itself brings experience from seismic operations across all continents, providing an operational organization ashore that understands the requirements associated with projects in different parts of the world.
Modern equipment provides the platform, but successful seismic operations also depend heavily on the people operating it.
For Maritim Management, an experienced crew with in-depth knowledge of both the vessel and its equipment is one of Artemis Odyssey's most important operational strengths.
Seismic experience, particularly from source vessel operations, is valuable across the crew. Familiarity with the vessel and equipment allows the different disciplines onboard to work together as one team when projects become more complex or operating conditions change.
It is also an important part of maintaining the vessel itself. Maritim Management places strong emphasis on continuous maintenance, helping ensure that Artemis Odyssey remains operationally ready throughout demanding campaigns.
That combination of people, equipment and maintenance has enabled the vessel to successfully complete complex projects in challenging environments and deliver according to client requirements.
As seismic operations continue to develop, so do the requirements placed on the vessels supporting them.
Artemis Odyssey has been continuously upgraded to meet these changing demands, while retaining the flexibility to support different project configurations. Combined with comparatively low fuel consumption, modern seismic systems, DP2 redundancy and an experienced crew, this makes the vessel a versatile platform for today's seismic market.
And development does not stop with the latest upgrades. Maritim Management continues to evaluate how Artemis Odyssey can be further adapted to provide greater capacity, flexibility and redundancy for future projects.
For a vessel designed around versatility, that ability to evolve is an important part of what Artemis Odyssey brings to the fleet.
